At the public bid opening for participation on tender procedure for procurement and installation of light signalization and other equipment on the Border Crossing Points Bogorodica and Dojran, in the frame of the Project "Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia Border Infrastructure Development (acronym: We Cross Borders)", in which the Customs Administration and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia, participate as partners, no bids were submitted.

Due to the above, the Customs Administration published on its website the document “Cancelation Notice  Tender CN1 - SO2.1 - SC033T2 20.07.2022”

Today, the inspectors from the Investigation, the Intelligence Department and mobile teams from the Customs Administration, discovered a large amount of cut smoking tobacco for which excise and other import duties have not been paid. The search was carried out at two locations in the Skopje region, following an order issued by a judge in a preliminary procedure.

In the said action, about 500 kilograms of cut smoking tobacco packed in nylon bags of different sizes, cardboard packaging for making tobacco boxes, filter paper for cigarettes and 1 machine for packing cut tobacco were found and seized.

After providing the necessary evidence and determining all the circumstances of the event, an appropriate criminal charge will be filed against the suspects.

A delegation of the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia led by Director General Slavica Kutirov, paid a working visit today to the Joint Contact Center between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria at the border crossing Deve Bair - Gjueshevo, which has the primary objective of strengthening border control and combating organized crime.

Today, during the Connectivity Forum held in Thessaloniki, the Director General of the Customs Administration Slavica Kutirov and the Governor of the Independent Authority  for Public Revenue Georgios Pitsilis signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the electronic data exchange between the customs services of the two countries. The signing of this Memorandum is of great importance for transport and trade facilitation from the CEFTA parties to the Republic of Greece, opening opportunities for further expansion of the Green Corridors to the EU.

The document Serious and Organized Crime Threats Assessment - SOCTA 2021 was presented today at an official event organized by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia, i.e. public Security Bureau, supported by the OSCE Mission in Skopje. Customs Director General Slavica Kutirov attended the event, together with the representative who took part in the activities of the task force for the preparation of this document.
