After receiving information from CO Tabanovce, inspectors of the Investigation Department of the Customs Administration conducted search of a freight motor vehicle with Serbian license plates transporting goods from the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of North Macedonia. Large quantity of undeclared automobile spare parts were found in the vehicle, for which the driver did not have appropriate documentation.

The value of the spare parts is estimated EUR 10,317.

The goods were impounded, and criminal charges will be filed against the truck driver for "Smuggling" under Article 278 of the Criminal Code.

Today and tomorrow in Vienna, Customs Director General, Ms. Slavica Kutirov is taking part in the First Preparatory Meeting of the 30th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum. The Forum promotes political dialogue on economic and environmental issues linked to security and contributes to the elaboration of recommendations and follow-up activities to address these challenges. Today, the Customs Administration took part in the event "Perception of export-oriented companies in North Macedonia on the Open Balkans Initiative", where the results of the first quantitative and qualitative survey on this topic were presented.
