The customs inspectors of the Operational Matters Department, in coordinated action with inspectors from the Ministry of Interior, prevented an attempt for drug trafficking, seizing about 2,700 grams of marijuana.

Today on 23.08.2017, at the premises of the Customs Administration Headquarters, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski - Director General of the Customs Administration and Mr. Nicola Bertolini, Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union in Skopje held a working meeting.

During inspection of a passenger motor vehicle at the border crossing Blace, customs inspectors of the Operational Matters Department detected about 22 kg of Marijuana in a specially designed bunker.  

Last two weeks, the customs officers detected several attempts for smuggling, seizing gold jewelry, foreign cash, excise goods, mobile phones, sports footwear and other items.


Acting upon established irregularities, in July 2017, the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia brought criminal charges in 3 cases against 3 natural persons and 1 legal entity with the competent public prosecutor's offices.
