On 27th October 2017, representatives of the Customs Administration had a meeting with representatives of the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Law and Human Rights in Syracuse, regarding the project “Strengthening the fight against illicit trade in South Eastern Europe”.

Today (25th October 2017), the Director General of the Customs Administration, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski, together with the Minister without Portfolio, Mr. Zoran Shapurikj, in charge for legislation for improvement of the investment climate for domestic companies, had a working meeting with representatives of about 15 domestic companies at the Customs Administration. Representatives from other government institutions - Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Environment, State Market Inspectorate and the Public Revenue Office also attended the meeting.

Last week, the customs officers foiled an attempt for customs fraud, illegal entry of migrants and several attempts for smuggling of various goods, seizing foreign currencies, kitchen knives, coffee machine parts, wallets, jewellery and counterfeits.

The Director General of the Customs Administration Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski had a meeting with Mr. Vladimir Pivovarov, National Coordinator of the National Border Management Coordination Center (NBMCC), a body of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of coordination and cooperation with the border institutions and authorities.

Last week, the customs officers detected several attempts for smuggling of various goods, seizing foreign currency, sporting rifles, leather belts, truck spare parts, cigarettes and counterfeits
