The Intelligence Department within the Control and Investigation Sector of the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia continues with successful realization of its competencies in conditions of pandemic.

In cooperation with customs officers deployed at Customs Office Airport, the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate, the Border Police and the Airport operator TAV, within May 2021 until today, 48 people who attempted to leave the country through the Skopje International Airport have been identified and detained. These people were registered on the list of State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate as persons infected with Covid 19 with active decree on self isolation.

The checks of passenger recorded for air travel are conducted on grounds of a decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and shall continue at both airports in Skopje and Ohrid by cross-checking the lists of passengers with the list of the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate that have been received self-isolation decrees due to Covid 19 infection. The checks are done through the RAVIO system, which automatically selects and identifies these individuals. After the identification of COVID 19 infected passengers they are handed over to the security services of the Airports who proceed as per their authorizations.
