Customs Director General, Mr. Sugareski and the Post AD Director, Mr. Jani Makraduli met to discuss how to strengthten the joint activities between the two institutions to improve the postal traffic which has an extremely important role in the overall customs operations, because in addition to sending postal letters, packages, which are customs goods are also sent.

Cross-border e-commerce has completely changed the perception of Customs at international level and has become a major aspect of the changing world of production, trade and economy that provides better economic opportunities and enhanced regional cooperation.

In 2020, a Project for modernization of the customs operations in e-commerce and postal traffic was implemented between Macedonian and Korean Customs.

This year, GIZ launched a new regional project to modernize cross-border e-commerce and postal customs operations within CEFTA. The objective of this project which will last 4 years is:

    Improvement of e-commerce legislation,

    Improvement of tax legislation and

harmonization of customs procedures in the CEFTA region.

This project will result in several benefits for the two institutions, the most important of which is the connection of CDEPS of the Customs Administration with the IT system of Post AD, i.e. complete digitalization of the procedures.
