The sniffer dogs visited the Customs Administration today together with their handlers.

The 5 dogs Jerry, Baron, Pimbo, Aron and Ruff have been part of the Customs Administration since 2000 and are of particular importance because they are used to protect borders and prevent illicit transport of narcotics. They have participated in several actions, 90% of which have been successful.

This year Jerry is retiring, and the mobile teams unit of the Customs Administration will be joined by 4 new dogs, donation from Germany. These 9-month-old dogs are specially trained to detect specific substances.

The Director General of the Customs Administration and representatives of the Control and Investigation Sector expressed their support for the customs officers from the mobile team responsible for the drug sniffing dogs. This unit in the Customs Administration is of particular importance in the fight against crimes and misdemeanors.
