Starting this year, all customs declarations and excise documents will be processed electronically. This was noted today during the visit of the Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski to the Customs Administration. The use of the Customs Declaration Processing System will start in the beginning of February in 11 Pilot Customs Offices, and from by mid-year it will be put in function at all customs offices in the country.

-This way, the companies will greatly reduce their costs and time. All documents will be lodged electronically. Our goal is to make the processes automatic, thus providing better services for the citizens and the companies" said Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski.

The Customs Declarations and Excise Processing System will enable data exchange with other institutions, such as the Public Revenue Office when submitting VAT declarations related to customs declarations or the Statistical Office and the National Bank for import and export related data.

A new terminal will be opened at the border crossing point Kjafasan in the first half of 2019, said the Director General of the Customs Administration Gjoko Tanasoski. The upgrade of the border crossing point Kjafasan includes a new customs terminal for import and export of 9.5 thousand m2, access roads, facilities for customs clearance and other inspection bodies (facility for the Customs Administration, water supply and sanitation, lighting, construction of a water treatment plant), as well as reconstruction of the existing facilities.

- The general objective of the project is to facilitate cross-border procedures and law enforcement that will be achieved with the reconstruction of the customs and inspection facilities, provision of better services for the economic operators and faster movement of goods and greaterprotection of the state and society- said Tanasoski.

Last year, as Tanasoski noted, the new customs terminal at the border crossing point Tabanovce was put into operation. The upgrade of the terminal facilitates ensured facilitation of the cross-border trade along Corridor 10 and carrying out of customs procedures in modern facilities.

In the area of implementation of the Authorized Economic Operator concept, it was pointed out that the future activities of the Customs Administration will be aimed to increase the number of issued authorisations through further promotion of the concept, advising companies and helping them manage the novelties of this concept.
