On 16TH October 2018 in Skopje, the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia and the Macedonia - Turkey Chamber of Commerce (MATTO) organized a workshop presenting current topics and novelties in the area of customs operations.

The present businessmen, members of the Macedonia-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry, had the opportunity to get acquainted in more detail with the implementation of Protocol 2 (on origin) of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey, the importance and benefits of the Authorized Economic Operator concept. The amendments in the Customs Law related to the misdemeanor provisions, as well as the current developments in the introduction of joint customs controls of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia were also presented.

The Director General of the Customs Administration Gjoko Tanasoski had an address at the event and saluted the activities of the Macedonia-Turkey Chamber of Commerce to enrich the cooperation between the two countries economically and stressed that thanks to the good cooperation, many companies in the chamber enjoy the benefits of simplified customs procedures.

In the future, the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia will continue to organize meetings of this kind, to inform the stakeholders about all new developments and reforms, but also in order to address all open issues in the area of customs operations.
