Today (17th September  2018) a Workshop for promotion of the concept of Authorized Economic Operator (OEO and its importance for economic operator was organized in Strumica.

The event, organized by the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia in cooperation with the USAID Regional Economic Growth Project (REG) is the second workshop, as part of the activities of the Customs Administration to ensure close partnerships between the policy makers - the Government, the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Administration and the representatives of the private sector involved in customs operations and the logistics.

The economic operators attending the workshop in Strumica had the opportunity to learn more about the advantages of obtaining the AEO status, as an internationally recognized quality mark. The granting of the AEO status is certification  of the company as a reliable and secure partner of the Customs Administration and in the international and regional supply chain. AEO economic operators are recognized as credible business partners in the international community.

The Director General of the Customs Administration, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski had an address at the workshop, pointing out that AEO is a key activity laid down  in the Multi-Annual Plan for Regional Economic Integration of the Western Balkan countries, adopted at the Trieste Summit. At the same time, he encouraged the Macedonian companies to obtain the Authorized Economic Operator status and take advantage of its benefits..

With the support of the USAID Regional Economic Growth Activity, the Customs Administration will organize similar events in the forthcoming period to inform the business community about the AEO concept and promote its use regaionally and globally.
