The customs officers prevented another attempt for smuggling narcotic drugs through the border crossing point Deve Bair, seizing nearly 10 kilograms of marijuana.

On March 27, 2018, a passenger motor vehicle with Albanian license plates, driven by an Albanian national arrived at the border crossing’s exit section. The vehicle was selected for detailed inspection. Inside the vehicle. The customs officers found 16 packs of unknown green substance, concealed in specially made bunkers. During the analysis with a drug tester, the tester showed presence of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), indicating that the substance is a marijuana.

The case was taken over by the inspectors from the Investigation Department of the Customs Administration, and with an order by a public prosecutor, the substance was sent for expert analysis which confirmed that it was a marijuana.

The Customs Administration filed criminal charges against the suspect, who is charged with  "Unauthorized production and release for sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors".

Pre-trial judge sentenced the suspect to a 30-day detention.
