Today (25th October 2017), the Director General of the Customs Administration, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski, together with the Minister without Portfolio, Mr. Zoran Shapurikj, in charge for legislation for improvement of the investment climate for domestic companies, had a working meeting with representatives of about 15 domestic companies at the Customs Administration. Representatives from other government institutions - Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Environment, State Market Inspectorate and the Public Revenue Office also attended the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to share opinions and jointly find the most appropriate solutions to the problems and needs of the domestic companies. On this occasion, the representatives of the domestic companies had the opportunity to openly speak about the challenges they face in their operation and together with the representatives of the government institutions to propose solutions for creating a better economic climate.

Minister Shapurikj opening the meeting welcomed the present, stressing that this meeting is a follow up of his previous visits to domestic companies, organised to inform about the measures that are taken and will be taken by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to increase the domestic companies investments, to improve the business climate in the country and to define measures and activities that will lead to improvement of the situation.

Director General Tanasoski emphasized that the Customs Administration is open for cooperation with the economic operators, and ready to give views on the problems and in the shortest time possible to respond with measures for improvement, starting with those for which there are currently no obstacles for their implementation, and in the future will also be moving towards other additional measures that may currently be obstacles and that will gradually be removed through joint cooperation.

The Customs Administration will give highest priority and will support any initiative for direct meetings of this type, which will help improve the work and make a step forward in the cooperation and trust between the institutions and the business sector.
