The 20th meeting of the Subcommittee on Customs and Rules of Origin is under way, which as a structural unit of CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) seeks to ensure simplification and acceleration of customs procedures.

Over the past two weeks, the customs officers found nine illegal migrants and foiled several attempts for smuggling, seizing foreign cash, teeth and face care products, homemade brandy, scented hookah tobacco, cigarettes and car parts.

The activities of the Subcommittee on Customs and Rules of Origin within CEFTA, this year chaired by the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia included the organization of today's an official visit of senior representatives of the CEFTA Secretariat, EU Transport Community and Regional Cooperation Council to the border crossing point Tabanovce.

Under the Twinning project "Improving revenue collection and tax and customs policy", online training was organized on "Preparation of national technical specifications of IT systems required for the EU". The training is realized through the Webex tool within 31 August – 4th September 2020 with lecturers - experts from the Republic of Croatia.

The purpose of the training is to strengthen the capacity of the Customs Administration on EORI 2 in creating a business concept as a basis for preparation of technical specification.


Delegation of the Customs Administration led by the Director General and representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) had a meeting today at the Customs Administration.
