Delegation of the Customs Administration led by Director General Gjoko Tanasoski is participating at a high-level Seminar on Customs Union Performance - Moving towards the Future. The seminar is taking place within 17-18 October, under the presidency of the Customs of Austria (within the Customs 2020 Programme).

The Customs Union which marks its 50th anniversary, continues to develop methods to assist the Customs Administrations to successfully perform their role as authorities that control the flow of goods across borders, protect the society from threats arising from illicit trafficking and that provide their own contribution to growth and competitiveness by facilitating legal trade.

The Customs Union Performance (CUP) Project is a key element in governance, aiming to establish systematic evaluation of the performances of the Customs Union in terms of strategic goals related to efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with principles.

The seminar is conceptualized in two workshops, one focused on how to use the Customs Union Performance Project and the other to address the short-term and medium-term priorities, the possibilities for acting in terms of how to respond to the needs the business community and the challenges arising from the promotion and development of the Customs Union Performance Project.
