The Director General of the Customs Administration, Gjoko Tanasoski, MSc., took part at the working meeting with representatives of the Meat processing and Meat production Group, held on Monday, 11th September 2017, at the premises of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.

The meeting was convened as a result of the perceived need to increase the competitiveness of domestic meat processing companies, which would later result in greater use of the production capacities of domestic companies of this industry.

By acknowledging the needs of the domestic meat processing companies requesting equal conditions of production concerning raw material, i.e. exemption from import duties on import of raw materials, a compromise was reached and a Draft Decision on the abolition of the levy and customs duty rate on frozen pork for processing.
