At the invitation of Customs Director General Sugareski, the Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski visited the Customs Administration today. Director General and the Public Prosecutor discussed ways to strengthen the joint efforts for investigation and prosecution, capacity building and coordination of the competent authorities.

Emphasis was placed on intensifying the collaboration between the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Customs Administration through the establishment of a common anti-corruption line and mutual determination to improve the efficiency of the system for fight against crime.

Director General Sugareski emphasized that the Customs Administration, as a body within the Ministry of Finance, in addition to the fiscal element of tax collection, has an indisputably important role in the area of security and preservation of health and life of citizens and environmental protection.

The Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia shall remain in working coordination with the competent state institutions for suppression of crime, corruption and illegal activities.
