Today, Customs Deputy Director Mr.Muarem Asani paid a working visit to the Customs Office Skopje Airport – Regional Customs House Skopje.

In the 2020 Investment Climate Report: North Macedonia, the State Department commends the Customs Administration in the part related to digitalization by using  automated electronic customs clearance process, which allows businesses to monitor the status of their applications and deterring  corruption to a maximal degree. It is also noted that there is no discriminatory export or import policy affecting foreign investors and almost 96 percent of total foreign trade is unrestricted.

At a joint central event, organized by the USAID, the Customs Administrations of the Republic of North Macedonia and the the Republic of Albania marked the realization of the project "Strengthening the efficiency of joint border crossings Kjafasan - Qafethane for transport, cross-border cooperation and Investment facilitation” as a grant approved by the USAID Enterprise Economic Development, Management, and Growth Program- EDGE Project.

Customs Deputy Director Mr. Muarem Asani held a protocolary meeting today with Mr. Martin Kranich, Customs Liaison Officer of the Federal Republic of Germany in charge of North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania.

In the period from 6th -9th July 2021, the Customs Administration, supported by the USAID Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth (EDGE) Project organized a regional training on Systemic Post Clearance Controls of large importers / exporters.
