Attempt for illegal trafficking of cash into the Republic of North Macedonia through the border crossing point Sveti Naum was prevented yesterday (23.9.2021)

At 11:30h, a Greek national with initials S.K(60, driving a passenger motor vehicle with Greek license plates arrived at the border crossing’s entrance section. Due to suspicion, the customs officer inspected the vehicle and conducted personal search of the driver and passenger, finding undeclared EUR 9,388. The cash was seized.

Delegation of the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia, led by Director General Ms. Slavica Kutirov, during the working visit to the Customs Administration of the Republic of Croatia today met with the Croatian Customs Director General, Mr. Mario Demirovic. The delegations confirmed the common interest for exchange of experiences in the area of application of the European Union legislation (related to customs regulations and excise duties).

Тoday, the Deputy Director of the Customs Administration Mr. Muarem Asani paid a working visit to the border crossing point Blace - Customs House Skopje.

A meeting with the State Market Inspectorate was held today in the premises of the Customs Administration. Practical aspects of exchange of data and information on effective controls, as well as the protocol for cooperation in conducting joint controls on the import of fuel oil was discussed.

NATO Exercise “NORTH MACEDONIA 2021”, co-organised by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Crisis Management Centre of North Macedonia is being conducted as of today – 20th to 23 September 2021 in the area of Ohrid and Struga, North Macedonia.
