In the course of January the customs officers prevented illegal crossing of the state border of 4 migrants and several attempts for smuggling goods, including motorcycles, motor vehicle spare parts, clothing, women's handbags, footwear, statuettes, eyeglasses and cigarettes.

Once again, Customs services around the world celebrate 26th January - International Customs Day, through special organized activities. Thus, throughout 2020, under the slogan “Customs fostering Sustainability for People, Prosperity and the Planet,” the Customs community will be focusing on the common commitment to secure the international supply chain and to meet the modern and special needs of the people and the society. Safety, prosperity and secure and healthy conditions, necessity for guaranteeing ecological standards are the highlights, where the Customs Services together with other competent institutions and bodies act to ensure control, protection and facilitation.

Highly sophisticated equipment procured thanks to the European Commission through the IPA programme was officially promoted today, 22nd January 2020,

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) donated new sophisticated handheld scanner for vehicle search to the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia. The donation handed over by Mr. Adam Woodrow, HMRC Liaison Officer.

Today, upon request of part of the importers of second-hand vehicles, a working meeting was held in the premises of the Customs Administration. The meeting was attended by representatives of the importers who presented their remarks to the Law on Motor Vehicle Tax which came into force on 01.01.2020.
