NATO Exercise “NORTH MACEDONIA 2021”, co-organised by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Crisis Management Centre of North Macedonia is being conducted as of today – 20th to 23 September 2021 in the area of Ohrid and Struga, North Macedonia.

A large-scale raid against illegal trade and seizure of cut tobacco sold on the green markets and stored other areas is underway at this moment.

Today, Director General of the Customs Administration, Slavica Kutirov MSc, together with Deputy Director Muarem Asani had a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of economic affairs, coordination with the economic departments and investments Mr. Fatmir Bytyqi, who wished them successful work and conveyed his expectations that the Customs Administration will remain among the leading institutions in the country. Several current topics related to customs operations were also discussed at the meeting.

Today, in the premises of the Ministry of Interior, Minister Oliver Spasovski and the Director of the Public Security Bureau Sasho Tasevski had a working meeting with Customs Director General Slavica Kutirov and representatives of the Customs Administration.


ON 6TH September 2021, the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia, in cooperation with the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Interior carried out a raid against illegal sale of cut tobacco. The subject of the raid was control and seizure of excise products which are illegally sold and violating the Customs and other Laws in the competence of the Customs Administration. 280 kilograms of cut tobacco were found and seized on two separate locations on the territory of the City of Skopje. The excise duty evaded is estimated to nearly 500,000 denars. Criminal charges will be filed against the person, in accordance with Article 279b of the Criminal Code.
