On 11th June 2019, the General Director of the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia participated at the fourth Informal Regional Meeting of the General Directors of the Customs Administrations of the Western Balkans, held in Prishtina, Kosovo.

The meeting, which is a continuation of the third informal regional meeting, held in Podgorica in January 2019 was attended by representatives of the Customs Administrations of Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and international institutions and organizations.

The delegations discussed the progress in the implementation of the Conclusions adopted at the last regional meeting of the Customs Directors General concerning the legal aspects of defining a framework for secure information exchange under harmonized standards and methods in the area of cooperation for information exchange in the fight against cross-border and organized crime.

Besides reviewing the progress made in the implementation of the Conclusions of the Podgorica meeting, the attendees also discussed preparation of joint approaches (projects) of the Customs Services in the region aimed at trade facilitation, promotion of customs procedures and economic cooperation in the Western Balkans.
