Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) donated new sophisticated handheld scanner for vehicle search to the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia. The donation handed over by Mr. Adam Woodrow, HMRC Liaison Officer.

Customs Director General, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski said that the scanner that will be used by the mobile customs teams is great means for prevention and detection of threats, as well as a standard tool in the daily operations of customs officers. Mt. Tanasosoki also pointed out that the support and established cooperation with the UK customs authorities is aimed at improving the existing and applying new techniques and modus opearndi through exchange of information and best practices in the fight against crime, but also contributing to faster customs procedures and trade.

HMRC Liaison Officer Mr. Woodrow expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia and his hopes that this cooperation will continue in the future.
