Customs and Public Security Bureau Directors, Gjoko Tanasoski and Lazo Velkovski signed a new Protocol arranging the procedures for faster movement of livestock, fresh products, dangerous materials, goods under the new computerized transit system and empty trucks at the border crossing points Tabanovce and Bogorodica.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Ljupch Nikolovski.

This protocol, as the Minister of Agriculture, Water Economy and Forestry, Ljupco Nikolovski noted is of exceptional importance for the export of the Macedonian agricultural foodstuffs.

"The new protocol, signed today by the Customs Administration and the Public Security Bureau, is especially important for exporters from the agriculture sector, since it provides a 24-hour free corridor for priority movement of live and fresh goods, which was previously time- limited. This way, the flow of goods will be significantly easier and faster, which is important for the Macedonian agro-food products to arrive on time on the foreign markets" said the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Ljupco Nikolovski.

The new protocol will at the same time contribute to avoiding longer delays at the border crossings, ensuring fast and safe flow of live goods at these two border crossings.

"The Customs Administration permanently works on maintaining the existing and introducing new possibilities for easier, simpler and faster customs procedures and conditions, with the support of information and communication technology," said the Director General of the Customs Administration, Gjoko Tanasoski.

The protocol for faster flow of goods at the border crossings Tabanovce and Bogorodica was prepared on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance.

"We will do this in a coordinated manner, we will act together in order to more effectively use the available material, technical, human and financial resources. Certainly, in line with our powers and competences laid down by laws, by-laws and regulations. We will act in coordination together with the customs and inspection authorities 24 hours a day, located at the mentioned border crossings. The situation will be monitored, coordinated, thus ensuring fast flow of goods" , added Lazo Velkovski, Director of the Public Security Bureau.

Protocol arranging the procedures for faster movement of livestock, fresh products, dangerous materials, goods under the new computerized transit system and empty trucks at the border crossing points Tabanovce and Bogorodica shall enter into force immediately.
