On 5th April 2018, delegations of the Customs Administrations of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania had a bilateral meeting in Korcha, Albania. The objective of the meeting of the delegations led by the Directors General of the two services was to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, established under the Agreement on bilateral customs cooperation between the two countries, and the CEFTA free trade agreement and the cooperation at the border crossing points..

The delegations led by the Directors General of the Customs Services, Mr. Gjoko Tanasoski and Ms. Belinda Ikonomi discussed several topics of interest for promotion of the mutual cooperation, intensified cooperation in the area of law enforcement, fight against customs fraud, and the acceleration of cross-border movement.

It was concluded that the cooperation between the two customs services is excellent, that the two Customs Administrations cooperate in the implementation of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), but further enhancement of the cooperation is of interest to both countries and the entire region.
