Within 19 to 23 March with the support of the USAID-funded Regional Economic Development Project, a working meeting was held in the premises of the Customs Administration.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the members of the Advisory Council and the competent institutions, who exchanged information on the current border procedures, non-tariff measures, the functionalities of the new Customs Declaration and Excise document processing system whose implementation is in its final phase, the formalities for obtaining licenses for customs procedure, the applicable legal provisions, the ongoing and forthcoming reform activities for the licenses and border inspections system.

The current state of affairs concerning the procedures conducted at the border crossing points for issuance and control of all licenses for import, export and transit of goods is also topic of discussion at these working meetings, organized on the occasion of the visit of the expert mission regarding handling and control of customs goods at border crossings.

The working meetings are expected to result in useful advice and recommendations for future activities for simplification of the procedures and improvement of the system for export, import and transit licenses in the country, as well as facilitating the procedures in the country by amendment of the regulations.
