A delegation of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia led by Director General Gjoko Tanasoski attended the 14th meeting of the Subcommittee on Trade, Industry, Customs and Taxation held in Brussels, Belgium, on 23.11.2017.

 
In the part of the Customs Union, within the framework of the Subcommittee meeting, the Director General of the Customs Administration informed the representatives of the European Commission about the progress in the legislation, the institutional and administrative capacity of the Customs Administration, as well as the maintenance of the IT systems. It was discussed about the progress and future activities in the development of the Customs Declaration and Excise Document Processing System (CDEPS), the maintenance and development of information systems for transit and integrated tariff environment. The participants at the meeting were informed about the innovations concerning the introduction of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and the activities for mutual recognition of the AEO within the CEFTA region. The European Commission informed about the innovations in the legislation at the European Union level.

On 22nd November 2017, the Director General of the Customs Administration also met with senior representatives of the European Commission Directorate General for Taxation and Customs (DG TAXUD), where the future strategic goals of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia were presented aimed at accelerating and facilitating trade, as well as activities related to the obligations of the Customs Administration in the implementation of the obligations of the Multi-Annual Action Plan for Regional Economic Integration of the Western Balkans.
